How accurate are the measurements?

The SpinalMouse® data have been proven to be highly accurate and reproducible in repeated measurements, both for intrarateras well as for interrater comparison.  After a brief practice with the SpinalMouse (10-20 measurements) the interrater reliability becomes good enough to call the method an objective one.

Comparisons on healthy subjects with published normative values and with the subject’s radiographic measurements have shown perfect agreement for global lumbar mobility and high correlation for segmental flexion and extension.  It must be emphasized that radiographic measures the bony pattern while the SpinalMouse measurements include the soft tissues.
